| If you've been following the serial
that is my art studio life, here is segment 2:
Just as I began my hunt for a new art studio, I was
invited to stay in my dingy, wonderful basement. And,
since you are rarely given a second chance in life,
I tried to take full advantage of my situation and worked
with the furniture store to open a gallery in the basement.
But things can turn in an instant, and on what was
to be the opening day, I got evicted again.
So, I'm again asking for any leads for a new space.
I'll be in my studio until November 1, making Open Studios
(October 16 and 17) a kind of goodbye to Hayes Valley,
home of the bluestninja's past 2 years of art-making.
Put it on your calendar.
And so, I bring you:.
1. Duct Tape Series
2. Open Studios -- October 16 and 17
|
1. Duct
Tape Series
Recently, I bought a huge roll of silver duct tape
and, combined with my fascination of old billboards
and peeled paper, I've branched into a new style.
They look a lot better in person. If you're interested,
let me know since I'll be in the basement quite a bit
in the final 6 weeks.
2. Open Studios -- October 16 and 17: 568 Hayes in
San Francisco
Save the date! I'll be exhibiting Distraction
-- Project 100 for the first time. It's my most
ambitious project, consisting of 99 8'x10' panel paintbrushes
and one 6'x6' center piece.
I might even have a slide show. And refreshments.
And music fit for a basement.
That's all for now. Make September pay for ending
summer.
Ciao
