So the holiday decorations are up in the stores (well, they
have been since Halloween), the nights are starting earlier
and earlier, and turkey (or tofurkey all you veggies out there)
is getting set to smell up the kitchen. And if there's one
other thing you can count one, one thing that won't let you
down it's....

1.
Place Pigalle
My first solo show is ongoing at the reddest bar in Hayes
Valley. I spent 6 hours setting it up on Halloween Day, then
played a mean game of kickball in the park and ate fried chicken
to celebrate before dressing as a blackjack dealer for Halloween.
But you don't really care about that, do you?
Opening night was the night after the election, so it wasn't
the most cheer of events I've been involved in. But thanks
to all who came out - about 40 people. It felt very therapeutic.
I've posted some shots of the setup. The show is still going
through December 14 so go check it out.
2. Open
Studios 2004
Wow! I mean, humbled am I. This was my third year of doing
Open Studios and it was the biggest, baddest, dirtiest, and
most successful one yet. Over 220 people came through over
the rainy weekend and I sold 31 paintings, including all of
the first Black
and White series, one
duct tape painting, the lovely "Foot in Cool Waters,"
and I traded The
Dancers for tickets to two different operas. Good trade
I think.
I've posted some photos of the show (courtesy of Susie
Shapira and my own little digital camera).
3. Art Gift Cards
The holiday season is coming up and I'm offering up Art
Gift Cards. I've done one in the past that worked out very,
very nicely for all involved. Basically, it works like a gift
certificate.
We can discuss how much my price range for paintings and
what a certain amount of money translates into artwork.
Then, after deciding how much of a gift certificate you
would like to give someone, you can send me a check and I
will send that person an online gift card for the amount.
I'll invite them to look at my web site or come see my work
in person and work with them to find them something they would
love to own.
So, if you want to give some art this holiday season, drop
me a line at info@bluestninja.com.
Thanks for all the continued support and I hope fall treats
you with pie!
Ciao!
